It's easy to feel the pressure of what's 'supposed' to happen over the holidays
But the festive season is a time for you to celebrate on your own terms, and most importantly, to celebrate yourself.
As you look back on the year, take a moment to recognise all that you’ve achieved. Big or small, every step forward matters. It’s not just about accomplishments but about how you’ve shown up for yourself.
Think about what really matters to you and use that to guide your plans—whether that’s quiet self-care, a creative project, or time with friends and loved ones.
There’s no right or wrong way to celebrate. Self-compassion is the key. Show up as you are and celebrate who you are without any pressure or expectations. If things don’t go as planned, that’s okay. What matters most is being kind to yourself.
Here are a few ideas to help you celebrate your way:
- Adventure: try something new that excites you and opens you up new possibilities.
- Compassion: show kindness to yourself and others, even when things don’t go as planned.
- Creativity: express yourself through art, music or anything that feels like you’re in the flow.
- Fun: do things that make you laugh and bring joy to your holiday season.
- Independence: celebrate by doing things that feel true to who you are.
